Suncoast Charities Funds First-Ever Camp Shriver For Special Athletes In Sarasota County

Suncoast Charities for Children is very proud to make the first-ever Special Olympics Florida Camp Shriver a reality here in Sarasota County! Camp Shriver is an inclusive camp that brings together young people with and without disabilities who enjoy camp activities alongside one another. This camp emphasizes the importance of inclusion, friendship and personal growth, providing participants with opportunities to build self-confidence, develop social skills, and foster a sense of belonging.

We hope to continue our funding support to ensure future camp experiences and would especially like to thank the Sarasota Tarpon Tournament for their generous donation, which helped us reach our fundraising goal for this initiative. A special thanks to Cardinal Mooney Catholic High School for hosting this week-long camp and to their high school students and faculty for volunteering as camp counselors!
